The airport occupiers team at the former Rogers Chapman is leaving to join CB Richard Ellis (CBRE).
Associates Tom Somerville, who set up the business at Rogers Chapman in 1996, and Andrew Gilling who joined in 2000, will set up an airport division in CBRE’s corporate services business, run by Matthew Pullen.
Gilling said they had decided to move after Rogers Chapman agreed to sell to Jones Lang Lasalle earlier this year.
“It came down to different approaches to airport property”, Gilling said.
“CBRE with their occupier slant was more suited to our experience. You can’t act for landlords and tenants at the same airport.”
The pair’s biggest client is British Airways, which is also a JLL client, but not up till now, one of CBRE’s.
John Stephen, Jones Lang LaSalle’s Chairman, England said: ”In the weeks since Rogers Chapman has joined us we’ve made great strides in the Western Corridor.
“We’ve been awarded Regus’ UK portfolio across 100 properties and we’re very excited about our future book of business.”
“In any merger it will not be possible to satisfy everyone’s aspirations.”
