Rok Development plans £15m Wigan scheme

Manchester-based Rok Development has submitted plans for phase one of a £15m office and industrial scheme in Wigan, Greater Manchester.

The scheme is planned for a 7-acre site Rok has purchased at Atherleigh Business Park, in the Gibfield Park area of the town.

The developer is seeking to build 60,000 sq ft of office space and 70,000 of industrial space.

Stuart Longbottom, director of Rok Development in Manchester, said: “We put a lot of research into ensuring we acquire the right sites in the right locations to deliver development opportunities in line with what the market wants.

“Atherleigh Business Park is an excellent example of this, as a key site, well served by the motorway network and in an area with strong levels of demand for flexible, high quality office and industrial accommodation.”

Rok has created a £60m pipeline of projects in the North West since its Manchester launch in 2005 and is planning to roll out offices in Leeds, Birmingham and Edinburgh.

The developer is a subsidiary of Exeter-based Rok Property Solutions.

Agents for industrial space on Atherleigh Business Park are Littler & Associates and PD O’Herlihy. Knight Frank is marketing the office space.
