Rok Developments has received planning permission for the first phase of a £15m commercial development at Atherleigh Business Park in Wigan.
The developer will commence work on an office building totalling 23,000 sq ft, alongside 15,000 sq ft of industrial space.
The office portion, called the Quad, will offer small units of 1,000 to 2,600 sq ft, while Ash Court, the industrial element, will feature six units.
The space will be made available either on a leasehold or freehold basis.
In total, the developer is planning 60,000 sq ft of offices and 70,000 sq ft of industrial space at the 7-acre site, which is at Gibfield Park, a former open-cast coal mine.
The scheme is being delivered by Rok’s Manchester office.
Jonathan Conway, director of Rok Development Manchester, said: “We are delighted to have achieved phase one planning approval for what is a key site.
“There is strong demand for high quality office and industrial accommodation in this area.”
Agents for industrial space at Atherleigh Business Park are Littler & Associates and PD O’Herlihy, while King Sturge is letting the office space.
