Rok spends £10m on Wilmslow office park

Rok Development has bought Wilmslow Business Park from Legal & General for more than £10m.

The deal for the business park, just outside the centre of the Cheshire town, brings the total development pipeline for Rok Development in the North West to more than £100m.

The scheme is on a 34-acre site and has planning permission for four new buildings totalling more than 200,000 sq ft.

With the exception of Stamford Lodge, the former home of brewer Henry Boddington, the existing buildings on the site will be demolished.

The first phase of new building work will start on site in 2007 and Stamford Lodge will be refurbished and reused as part of the overall scheme.

The four new buildings are based around a central courtyard.

Stuart Longbottom, director of Rok Development Manchester said: “This is a unique site, one of the last high-quality rural business parks close to Manchester airport.

“Demand in the region for high quality office and industrial accommodation continues to be high, and our proposals for Wilmslow will offer flexible solutions with the option for occupiers to let or buy.”

DTZ and Cushman & Wakefield are agents for the scheme.
