Round Hill Capital has formed a partnership with Cortland to enter the US multifamily housing sector.
The company has made an investment at The Exchange at North Haven, a 411-unit inner suburban apartment scheme in the Brookhaven and Chamblee neighbourhoods of Atlanta.
Investment management will be led by Round Hill, while community and day-to-day operations of the partnership will be managed by Cortland’s local management teams.
Rob Reiskin, senior managing director and head of Americas at Round Hill, said: “Round Hill principals started investing in the US in 2010. Since then, we have been carefully evaluating the US real estate market, building a team and seeking strategic opportunities to partner with best-in-class operators and managers.
“We believe that recently renovated, suburban residential assets located in select growth areas of south-eastern US cities are an attractive area for investment and we look forward to bringing our significant resources and experience to bear in this market.”
Michael Bickford, founder and chief executive of Round Hill, said: “This investment represents a strategic first step for Round Hill and a solid base to expand our investment platform in select cities in the Americas.”
Round Hill has acquired, built and managed more than 110,000 residential and student housing beds in eight European countries.
