Roundhouse Properties has bought 31 Princess Street in Manchester for an undisclosed sum.
The 19th-century building, which fronts onto Albert Square, was bought from Namulus Pension Fund.
It represents a refurbishment opportunity comprising 5,100 sq ft of offices with two retail units on the ground floor; one of which would continue to be occupied by Clarity’s hairdressers.
Roundhouse previously owned the building when it was the head office of Swinton Insurance, but sold it in 1992.
Roundhouse chairman and managing director said: “It’s a great addition to our portfolio and we will look to breathing a new lease of life into it, having been vacant for the past six months.
“We are passionate about creating modern, dynamic work places that inspire people, improve the community and help businesses to thrive.”
Savills and JLL have been appointed as joint agents on the office lettings; Hynes Illingworth is the sole agent on the retail unit.
