Sources close to talks between Nanjing Automobile and GB Sports says a deal to resume production of MG-badged cars at the former Longbridge Rover plant has been delayed again.
Agreement might not be reached until next week because of what is believed to be a change in the consortium backing GB Sports, run by former Rover managers.
A deal had been expected to get the go-ahead from US financiers this week for a venture with Nanjing. The Chinese company paid £53m for Rover’s assets last year after the British carmaker collapsed.
