Row over LC&F report escalates

The row over the report into the Financial Conduct Authority’s handling of the London Capital & Finance scandal has escalated.

Dame Elizabeth Gloster, the author of the damning 494-page report, wrote to the Treasury select committee to “reject” and “disagree” with the testimony given by Andrew Bailey to MPs on Monday.

Bailey, the governor of the Bank of England and former FCA chief, had told MP’s that he was “angry” at the way Gloster had portrayed him on 1 February, when she gave evidence to MPs on her report on the scandal.
