Royal & SunAlliance (RSA) has reactivated its Manchester office requirement after it lost out to the RAC in its bid to buy the former Norweb building in South Manchester.
Royal&Sun is looking for up to 11,148 sq m (120,000 sq ft) out of town or up to 4,645 sq m (50,000 sq ft) in the city centre through agents Richard Ellis St Quintin.
The insurer lost out to RAC, which scooped United Utilities 7,800 sq m (84,000 sq ft) offices on Talbot Road for about £11m. Lambert Smith Hampton quietly marketed the Norweb building earlier this year.
The company is rumoured to have discussed a possible deal with Orbit to take office space at 55 King Street, Orbit’s retail and office development. RSA’s existing city centre offices are at Pall Mall Court next door.
