The Royal Shakespeare Company is seeking lottery funding to redevelop its theatres in Stratford-upon-Avon. An unpublished study by the company says that the main theatre is in dire need of redevelopment to improve poor acoustics and sightlines in the balcony and improve toilet facilities, dressing rooms and stage machinery.
A lottery application will be submitted this summer which will also include proposals for adapting the auditorium and providing new public spaces and restaurants as well as a larger foyer.
