The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) has revealed it spent £16m moving to a state-of- the-art headquarters in West Sussex, a few miles from its old one.
The RSPCA says if it had rented a property of equivalent size, it could have paid £1.25m a year.
It moved into the building, at Southwater, in September.
