Exeter Chiefs rugby club has submitted plans to double the capacity of its Sandy Park stadium, and more than treble its commercial space.
The club, which plays in the Aviva Premiership, wants to increase the ground’s capacity from 10,750 to 20,600 by developing three grandstands.
It has also applied to increase space for shops, conferences and cafes to 237,194 sq ft from the current 62,194 sq ft.
If Exeter city council gives approval, the club hopes the development will be complete by the end of 2017.
