Belle Vue Stadium, home of rugby team the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, has been put on the market for offers in excess of £600,000.

Sanderson Weatherall has been instructed by the Bank of Ireland, which owns the stadium, to sell the 120-year-old site.

Belle Vue comprises 5.8 acres on Doncaster Road, one mile south of the city centre in Wakefield, west Yorkshire. It has been home to the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats since the late 1800s.

The stadium is being offered as a freehold investment subject to a lease to the rugby club, which was awarded a new five-year lease at the end of the 2015 season after securing Super League status.

The stadium has a capacity of 7,236 and includes a mix of covered and open seating along with terraced spectator areas.

The main clubhouse includes hospitality and conference rooms, offices, changing rooms and ancillary facilities across two floors.
