Rugby’s Wilson to tackle BDG posting

Handshake_new_April_2014.jpegAndrew Wilson, a founding director of former listed property company Rugby Estates, has joined niche West End office agent BDG Sparkes Porter as non-executive chairman.

Wilson helped found AIM- listed Rugby in 1990 and spent more than 20 years with the firm until its de-listing in 2014.

His current directorships include chairing the property valuation committee at the UK Commercial Property Trust, which is managed by Standard Life.

His appointment comes as BDG Sparkes Porter looks to expand from its current landlord agency focus.

Alongside Wilson the partnership has hired Marcel Petrie to spearhead a lease advisory business.

Petrie joins from Deloitte Real Estate where he has spent the past seven years focusing on central London offices and retail.

BDG Sparkes Porter was founded in 1994 by Greg Porter, Paul Gold and David Brogan and the current team includes seven fee earners.

Porter said the appointments would see the firm through its “next phase….in providing clients with joined-up real estate services in the West End office arena”.
