Runway East to expand into Manchester
Co-working operator Runway East is seeking up to 40,000 sq ft of office space in Manchester as it looks to open its second regional office.
The flexible office provider has instructed OBI to find space between 20,000-40,000 sq ft in the city.
Runway East has six offices – five in London and one in Bristol, which opened in October. A seventh office near Aldgate, EC3, is scheduled to open next month.

Earlier this year, the company appointed Philip Grace, founder of serviced office provider Landmark, and Brett Putter, founder of consultancy CultureGene, as board members.
At the time, the company called it a “crucial stage” in its growth as it looked to expand in London and launch new locations in the regions.
Manchester has long been on Runway East’s radar. Earlier this year, chief executive Natasha Guerra (pictured) said the company was keeping an eye on the area given the amount of start-ups and scale-ups that are launching or moving into the city.
Runway East is the latest entrant into the Manchester co-working market, which so far has been dominated by WeWork.
It follows in the footsteps of operators such as Work.Life, which took 12,500 sq ft at Boultbee Brooks’s Core building this year as its first office outside London and the South East.
However, if it finds space at the upper end of its requirement, Runway East’s office will be more similar to the scale WeWork is pursuing as it tracks offices between 40-60,000 sq ft.
