Russia has broadened its crackdown on McDonalds to more than 200 separate investigations in tit-for-tat reprisals over western sanctions.
Previously Russia had ordered four of the fast-food franchise’s largest restaurants to close over health fears, but critics argue that it is a response to US and EU sanctions against Russia for its incursion into Ukraine.
McDonalds has 450 restaurants in Russia,with more than 100 in the Moscow area.
