In one of Northampton’s largest deals to date, Scottish & Newcastle (S&N) has paid £15m for its new 10,683 sq m (115,000 sq ft) headquarters at The Lakes office park.
The flagship building will house S&N’s retail division, which is relocating from the town centre. S&N’s John Dewer said: “We’re really pleased to have signed up a deal so quickly on this site.”
Work will start on site in April, with completion due in June 2001.
Landowners Hampton Brook and Barwood bought the 2ha (5 acre) site from Wilson Connolly for £350,000 last year. Montagu Evans acted for Scottish & Newcastle.
