Sage Housing raises target to 30,000 homes

Blackstone’s affordable housing provider, Sage Housing, has set out plans to grow its portfolio to 30,000 homes by 2030.

Sage Housing has delivered 7,200 homes across 281 sites since launching in 2017.

The company became the largest provider of affordable housing last year. It expects to add a further 3,400 completed homes this year. In 2020 results, Sage said it had committed to 12,663, and was on track to hit the 20,000 goal by 2022.

Strong momentum and new funds mean Sage has now extended its ambitions with a further 10,000 homes by 2030.

Sage’s investors have committed more than £3.6bn to developing new affordable homes in five years.

Mark Sater, chief executive of Sage Housing, said: “While much of the housing sector has slowed delivery in the face of challenges such as Covid, environmental retrofit and remediation, Sage is proud to have continued to grow and deliver critical new homes.

“We want to build on this momentum to ensure we continue to deliver these high-quality and sustainable homes for those most in need.”
