Sai Life Sciences quadruples space at Alderley Park

Sai Life Sciences has expanded its existing base at the Mereside Campus located within Alderley Park, Manchester.

The India-headquartered molecular research firm has increased its floor space four-fold to 20,000 sq ft from the 5,000 sq ft it took two years ago. The move follows business growth, with more than 50 new hires recorded during the period.

Sai has added a new chemistry and analytical lab to its North West hub, and increased its fume cupboard provision to 80 from 24. Other capability additions include an Integrity 10 parallel screening tool, Open Access GCMS, Open Access Chiral HPLC, Open Access 400 MHz NMR, physical properties analytical equipment and LCMS with accurate mass.

Alderley Park is part of Bruntwood SciTech’s national network of innovation districts. The developer is currently working on site to set-up a GMP Kilo Lab by the final quarter of 2022.

Kath Mackay, director of life sciences at Bruntwood SciTech, said: “Meeting the very real demand that our companies have for grow-on space is something we are committed to meeting, and is why we’re focused on continuing to invest in our lab provision across our network.”
