Takeover target Sainsbury’s has submitted plans for a £350m regeneration of a 32-acre site in Selly Oak, Birmingham. The supermarket chain plans to transform the Battery and Triangle sites into a mixed-use scheme, comprising 400,000 sq ft of offices, a 75,000 sq ft supermarket, 97,000 sq ft of shops, 20,000 sq ft of leisure, two hotels and more than 1,000 homes. The plans have been welcomed by the council as part of its strategy to revitalise the area.
