Sainsbury’s is to open a 116,000 sq ft store at the £200m Talbot Green town centre redevelopment in South Wales.
Talbot Green Developments, the joint venture between Valad Europe and Scarborough Development Group, has secured detailed planning consent and exchanged contracts with Sainsbury’s for the scheme.
The redevelopment comprises 380,000 sq ft of shops, restaurants and a hotel.
Mark Jackson, managing director of Scarborough Development Group, said: “Now that Sainsbury’s is committed to opening a new store, we can push on with our proposals for phase 2 of the development. Once complete, Talbot Green’s new town centre will become an important leisure and retail destination for the surrounding area.”
