It may not have been able to deliver a £12 billion merger with Asda but J Sainsbury is hoping for better luck with pizzas after teaming up with Deliveroo to claim a bigger slice of the £8 billion food delivery market.
The group claims it is the first British supermarket to offer hot takeaways via the delivery app after launching a trial yesterday in five stores: Cambridge; Selly Oak, in Birmingham; West Hove in Sussex; and Pimlico and Hornsey, both in London.
