Sales fall as high street feels the chill

Retail sales have suffered their biggest hit in almost ten years as shoppers dodged the spring snow by staying at home, according to a monthly report by the accountants BDO.

Year-on-year sales as measured by its high street sales tracker fell 10.1%t in March, the largest drop since November 2008 when retailers were hit by snow and the global financial crisis.
