Salmon Harvester has submitted plans for 322 build-to-rent homes in Kingston-upon-Thames town centre.
The design calls for buildings of up to 12 storeys as well as 24,000 sq ft of shops.
The commercial property investor and developer submitted the plans through its Salmon Harvester Opportunity Fund.
Offices, shops and an NCP car park currently occupy the site, which is located just south of Kingston Walk, a major shopping centre.
British Land has consent for a £400m major redevelopment at Kingston Walk, incorporating new shops, restaurants, offices and a cinema, as well as 380 homes.
Immediately to the east on a former post office site now called Royal Exchange Kingston, Berkeley Homes subsidiary St George has started construction of 338 homes.
The planning consultant for Salmon Harvester’s scheme is Carter Jones. It is expected Salmon Harvester will look to bring in a build-to-rent partner once planning consent is achieved.
Salmon Harvester declined to comment.
