Salmon Harvester and NFU Mutual have signed the largest Bristol city centre office letting of the year at 2 Glass Wharf.
Construction consultancy Arcadis has leased 16,796 sq ft on the first floor of the speculatively developed building, where rents are around £28 per sq ft.
It will join PwC, which agreed a deal last year to occupy two-and-a-half floors of the office block at the highest rent achieved in Bristol since 1995.
The Arcadis letting exceeds the 15,000 sq ft deal agreed by Civica at the Spectrum Building in October but highlights the sharp fall in the number of large deals compared with 2014, when several major leases were signed.
There is now just 45,000 sq ft available at 2 Glass Wharf, vindicating the developers’ decision to build out the £40m scheme speculatively in 2013. The Bristol market was then still suffering the effects of the global financial crisis.
Alder King is leasing agent at 2 Glass Wharf; Gerald Eve acted for Arcadis.
