The owner of the Sanderson and St Martin’s Lane hotels in London is reviewing its options for the two locations, which could culminate in a £250m sale.
The family office of Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani, the former Qatari prime minister, is understood to have instructed JLL on evaluating its options, including a potential sale or refinancing.
The five-star Sanderson Hotel has 150 rooms and is located on 50 Berners Street, W1. The St Martin’s Lane hotel, in Covent Garden, WC2, has 204 bedrooms.
The hotels, operated by Morgans Hotel Group, were previously sold for around £192m in 2011 to the Qatari investors, with asset manager Cedar Capital Partners retaining a minority stake. At the time, the sellers reportedly sought £210m for the pair.
