Sanderson Design Group has taken space in west London for its new headquarters, at the site of its former factory.
The luxury interior design and furnishings company will be moving staff to Voysey House, in Chiswick, W4, this summer. The company has signed for 16,000 sq ft in the building on a 10-year lease.
The Sanderson brand has historic links to the site, which opened in 1902 as a wallpaper factory for Arthur Sanderson & Sons, the original Sanderson brand.
All 80 staff from the group’s current head office at Chalfont House in Denham will be moving to the site. This includes design, sales, marketing, finance and administrative teams.
Voysey House, which was originally known as the White Building, is a Grade II listed building designed by CFA Voysey. The site was converted into five floors of offices in the 1960s.
The building has since been fully renovated to improve its environmental performance and the office offering. It is currently undergoing a fit-out to create showroom space, a design hub and events venue, as well as space for the Sanderson and Morris & Co archives, and head office functions.
The move is expected to be cost-neutral on a run-rate basis as Voysey House is a smaller building than the firm’s current headquarters and reduces its requirement for external showroom space.
Sanderson chief executive Lisa Montague said: “This opportunity to move our head office to London will bring important strategic benefits for the group while being cost-neutral. At the same time, it is a privilege to be returning the Sanderson brand to Voysey House, a former Sanderson wallpaper factory and the brand’s original home.”
