Sanderson Weatherall’s Simmons quits for start-up

Sanderson Weatherall investment director Andrew Simmons has left the company, becoming the second director to quit the firm’s Manchester office in recent weeks.

He has formed a new consultancy, Simmons McCreedy, focusing on international investment, especially investors from the Middle East and Africa.

Johannesburg-based Mark McCreedy of McCreedy Friedlander will work alongside Simmons at the firm.

Simmons said: “With yields having softened to 7-8%, well-located investments are on the radar screen for people who have been out of the market for the past two or three years.”

Simmons’ move follows the departure of leisure specialist Tim Westlake-Bryant, who has left Sanderson Weatherall to take a position at hotel and leisure operator Whitbread.

Sanderson Weatherall has 260 staff and offices in Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle and Teesside, as well as London.
