Landis & Gir have introduced a new personal computer-based software package, with the somewhat Nordic name of Visonik Energyr, designed to assist the efficient operation of building services and to keep close control of energy expenditure. The system is particularly aimed at landlords of multi-tenanted office buildings, with its ability to calculate and assess the precise energy consumption of each tenant.
The new system is designed for use in conjunction with an existing building energy management system (BEMS) to provide monitoring, control and budgeting of energy consumption. Energyr will work with Landis & Gir’s own BEMSor those of other manufacturers, and it may be run on all IBM compatible PCs, including the new PC System/2.
The Energy Signature program provides uniform presentation of energy consumption figures for individual buildings or complexes. It has many features, including comparisons of actual and budgeted energy consumption, calculation of effectiveness of energy optimisation measures, and comprehensive analyses based on energy usage and climatic information.
