Savills has appointed Jon Gardiner as its head of central London office leasing after 23 years at the agency.
Gardiner, who already sits on Savills’ board, will take post from 1 April, and will work alongside central London leasing chairman Philip Pearce.
Pearce said Gardiner would offer a “depth of experience for clients who want to take a longer term view on leasing strategy and the life cycle of their building”.
Gardiner’s appointment comes after Savills poached tenant representation stalwart Andrew Barnes from JLL last year, and comes as part of a strategy to grow its central London team.
Savills also hired Richard Garside for its capital markets team from CBRE, with his start date pencilled in for later this year.
Gardiner’s role as head of Savills’ Greater London and South East offices team will go to Andrew Willcock, who has been at the company since 2003.
Gardiner said: “Having led teams across the UK, I have been fortunate to see first-hand the trends and influences that are shaping office markets.
“I’m greatly looking forward to continuing to work with our existing clients as well as connecting with our highly experienced global office business to ensure clients receive the full breadth of our services and market leading expertise.
“As offices come back to life across the globe and many businesses return to the workplace it is a very exciting time to be part of London’s re-emergence as a key global office destination.”
