Savills boosts data skills with Multiverse collaboration

Savills’ property management division has teamed up with training specialist Multiverse to launch a data literacy academy.

The academy will be used to accelerate its employees’ skills.

According to data from Accenture, more than 90% of data globally was created in the last two years, with around 67% of employees able to access business intelligence tools. However, while data is increasingly abundant, the potential is not often unlocked to its full capacity, with only 25% of employees feeling fully prepared to use data effectively when moving roles, 32% able to create business value from this data, and a further 30% of enterprise data currently not being analysed.

The new 12-month programme, launching in this month, provides employees with data insights, case studies, showcases opportunities and challenges and provides tools for making data-driven decisions and embedding this into the work culture. Savills has enrolled 40 team members on the programme and an additional 15 on the fellowship apprentice programmes, which aim to provide the knowledge and tools to make more informed decisions.

Multiverse has around 8,000 apprentices as part of its community aimed at those wishing to enhance their digital and technical skills through the apprenticeship scheme.

Katrina Mackay, Savills UK board director, said the programme would offer “employees the opportunity to learn new data skills, advance their capabilities and will ensure that the extensive amount of data we are capturing is being used to its full capacity”.

Tom Reid, enterprise account executive at Multiverse, added: “As the real estate industry goes through an accelerated digital transformation, the property management team’s ambition to deliver “the best forward-thinking service to its customers” means investing in the skills of the future. The launch of the academy will build on these capabilities, but also represents a significant investment in the team and their development. Our mission is to create an outstanding alternative to university and corporate training.”
