Savills nets over £62m from latest two-day sale
Savills raised more than £62m across its two-day live-streamed auction this week.
The sale, on 15 and 16 April, saw 178 commercial, mixed-use and residential properties find buyers from 227 offered, a 78% success rate.
The firm said the auction marked a significant uptick in demand for higher-value assets, with 10 lots selling for more than £1m. A hat-trick of sales over £3m was seen in Chelsea: a mid-terrace three-bedroom period family home on Ovington Street, SW3, a penthouse in Cheyne Place, SW3, and a freehold property arranged into four self-contained flats on Redcliffe Road, SW10, all achieved prices above their guides of £2.95m.

Other residential highlights included an end-of-terrace property converted into three flats in Stockwell, SW9, which achieved a hammer price of £1.445m, and a detached property near Wanstead, E11, which sold at £600,000 more than its guide of £425,000, following a series of competitive bids.
In the commercial arena, a Grade II listed building in Uxbridge comprising a banqueting hall together with 20 office suites and 50 car parking spaces sold for £4.92m. It produces £439,500 per annum.
In Brixton, SW9, a freehold mixed-use property arranged as two ground-floor commercial units and two three-bedroom flats sold for £1.97m, while an industrial estate in Doncaster sold for three times its guide of £200,000, achieving £615,000.
Auctioneer Gary Murphy said the success of larger lots reflected “a broader market confidence among investors, developers and end users”.
