The head and associate director of Savills’ Northern retail team are leaving to join niche Leeds-based retail agency Barker Proudlove.
Head of retail James Lamming and associate director Phil Coombes will become director and associate director respectively at the smaller, independent company.
The pair’s decision to leave comes just weeks after Coombes was promoted to associate director, working across both the Manchester and Leeds offices, and months after Lamming, who is based in the Manchester office, was appointed head of retail for the North.
Lamming had been a retail director in Savills’ Leeds office since 2007. Coombes joined the firm in July 2014.
Savills’ 180-strong Manchester office is headed by James Evans.
Sean Gillies, head of retail at Savills, said: “We have a strategy in place to ensure that our existing and new clients continue to experience the best service from Savills.”
Barker Proudlove’s clients include Aviva, Ellandi and M&G Real Estate.
