Savills poaches Apple property chief

Mark-Simms-THUMBThe head of European property at Apple is leaving the tech giant for a top retail role at Savills.

Mark Simms, Apple’s senior real estate manager for European property, has been appointed to head Savills’ shopping centre team.

Simms leaves Apple after three years with the super brand, where he facilitated Apple’s European expansion as well as taking the business to Brazil and parts of Asia.

He will join Savills as a director in January.

Simms previously worked at Cushman & Wakefield and CBRE, and previous landlord clients have included Westfield, Hammerson and Land Securities.

He has also worked with occupiers Swatch, Timberland and Royal Mail Group.

All parties declined to comment.
