Menswear firm Baird Group, which owns the licence for Ben Sherman in the UK and Europe, has appointed Savills to oversee a “major” store expansion strategy.
Baird Group, which also counts Suit Direct, Jeff Banks, and Young’s Hire among its brands, currently occupies 47 stores. It aims to launch new full-price and discount stores across the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and Switzerland.
Initially Baird Group will seek stores for Ben Sherman and Suit Direct. It will mark a debut in mainland Europe for Suit Direct, which currently has a high street presence in the UK.
Alongside its UK sites, Ben Sherman currently has a full price store in Berlin, with a discount store in Roermond in The Netherlands. Its UK flagship is on Carnaby Street in Soho, W1.
Nick Scott, group chief financial officer at Baird Group, said the firm appointed Savills after an “extensive search for the right real estate partner” to assist in its “pursuit of profitably growing our business across the UK and Europe”.
