Savills wins Slough Trading Estate mandate

Savills has been appointed joint agent alongside Jones Lang LaSalle on the expansion and redevelopment of Segro’s Slough Trading Estate, EGi News has learnt.

The agent beat shortlisted bidders Cushman & Wakefield and Colliers International to the mandate for marketing Segro’s 20-year regeneration of the estate.

The estate is currently home to 7.5m sq ft of business space set across 485 acres and is Europe’s largest trading estate in Europe in single ownership.

Jones Lang LaSalle has been SEGRO’s long-term adviser.

The group’s £300m masterplan proposes the redevelopment and extension of the park to create five business environments and more than 4,000 new jobs.

The joint instruction will focus on the marketing of 1.5m sq ft of new offices and 245,000 sq ft of ancillary retail and leisure.

The plans also envisage a ‘central core’ in the middle of the estate, including office space, shops, restaurants, cafes, a hotel, serviced offices, education and recreation facilities. A new transport hub will also be created.
