SBM’s Hawley checks in at Hyatt

Hyatt International has recruited Tom Hawley from Monaco’s state-owned luxury hotel and casino group Société des Bains de Mer.

Hawley has been appointed as the hotel group’s vice-president of acquisitions and development in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He is based in Zurich, Switzerland.

The move comes four years after Hawley joined SBM as executive vice-president of development to find new sites across the globe, including a London flagship.

Prior to SBM, Hawley lead HBOS’s joint venture hotels business, including Johnny Sandleson’s buy-to-let hotel business GuestInvest.

Peter Norman, senior vice-president of acquisitions and development for Hyatt, said: “We are delighted to welcome Tom to the team, and look forward to harnessing his broad experience to grow the Hyatt family of brands, especially in western Europe.”
