Global insurance firm Axis Capital has signed to lease 31,500 sq ft at WRBC Development’s Scalpel, EC3.
The deal represents the second letting in the 36-storey tower at 52 Lime Street, which is due to complete in December 2017.
In October, insurance broker BLP Global (Berry, Palmer and Lyle) confirmed it has taken level 12 of the tower, which is adjacent to Lloyd’s of London.
Axis has taken the space on levels two and three of the building. The firm will move its London office from 60 Great Tower Street, EC3, to the Scalpel in 2018.
“By moving to the Scalpel, we will provide our employees and clients with the benefits of maintaining an office in a world-class facility that is within steps of Lloyd’s of London,” said Mark Gregory, chief executive of Axis Insurance’s international division. “This move speaks to the continued growth of Axis Capital’s UK operations and our deep commitment to the London market.”
Cushman Wakefield and CBRE are leasing agents on the Scalpel; Spring4 acted for Axis Capital.
