Scannell Properties has appointed Geoffrey Pizzanelli from AEW as its capital deployment director for Europe and the UK.
Pizzanelli will join the company in January 2020 and will be based at the firm’s new Paris office.
In his new role, Pizzanelli will oversee the acquisition and disposal strategy in the UK and Europe. This will involve sourcing investment opportunities, monitoring regional underwriting and defining and leading disposals.
He will also be responsible for setting bank and capital financing, with the objective of developing long-term relationships with capital partners.
Pizzanelli has spent the past eight years at AEW. During this time, he held various positions including fund controller for the LOGISTIS Fund, asset manager for France and Spain, and head of asset management, development and transactions (logistics and light industrial in Southern Europe).
In his most recent role, he managed a team of 10 asset managers responsible for the firm’s logistics fund, which targets logistics, cross-docking and light industrial assets in France, Belgium, Italy and Spain.
Amaury Gariel, Scannell’s managing director for Europe, said that Pizzanelli “brings extensive experience of capital structuring for large industrial portfolios, which will further enhance and differentiate our offer to European clients”.
