Schroder Real Estate Investment Management has secured more than 28,000 sq ft of new office lettings at City Tower in Manchester.

International recruitment company Hays Specialist Recruitment, which currently occupies 18,000 sq ft across the fourth and fifth floors, has completed a new 10-year lease extension.

Office space provider iHub has taken all of the 9,000 sq ft 20th floor on a 10-year lease.

Schroders has also agreed a new five-year lease with packaging products and services provider Sonoco, which will occupy 1,317 sq ft on the 26th floor.

Further new lease regears include a 10-year lease extension with architecture firm Sheppard Robson and a five-year extension with customer science company Dunnhumby.

The new deals follow completion of a major refurbishment to provide 36,000 sq ft of office space across four floors of 9,000 sq ft. In total the building offers 340,000 sq ft. Schroders is quoting rents of between £24 and £30 per sq ft for the refurbished space.

Architect Sheppard Robson was appointed to enhance the reception, central mall area, common parts and vacant offices after Schroders bought the tower in 2014.

Since then, Schroders has let space to LG Energy Group, Access Systems, Godel, Saffery Champness and property management company MJ Mapp.

Colliers International and CBRE advise Schroders.
