Schroder signs Charles Stanley at 55 Bishopsgate

55-Bishopsgate-EC2Investment manager Charles Stanley has agreed to lease 47,000 sq ft at Schroder’s 55 Bishopsgate, EC2.

The move will allow the company to consolidate a number of London office locations, including staff based at 131 Finsbury Pavement, EC2, and decommission other offices nearing the end of their leases.

As part of the consolidation project, Charles Stanley will place the remaining 40-year lease at its current headquarters, 35 Luke Street, EC2, on the market.

It has appointed Bilfinger GVA to market its lease at the building, where it currently occupies 15,000 sq ft.

Charles Stanley said it hoped the consolidation into a central office would improve communication between departments and provide a “professional reception” for clients in the heart of the Square Mile.

The 55 Bishopsgate deal will see them take over insurance broker Aon Benfield’s existing lease at the building.

Schroder bought 55 Bishopsgate from Canada Pension Plan Investment Board for around £185m in January.
