Schroders and Anglo Lamron have secured consent for 37,500 sq m (403,660 sq ft) of offices in Redhill. The 9.7ha (24 acres) site at Park 25 previously had consent for 16,000 sq m (172,228 sq ft) of B1 office space.
This consent has now been extended, and will also include 1,170 parking spaces. The developers of the joint venture are in discussions about the future of the site.
Managing director of Schroder Property Investment Management, William Hill, said: “This is one of a handful of remaining sites in the southern sector of the M25 capable of accommodating a business park development of this size.”
The development, next to Redhill railway station, will adjoin the 14.5ha (36 acres) Foxboro Park office and industrial development also owned by Schroders and Anglo Lamron.
The site was acquired in 1997, and a 9,000 sq m (96,878 sq ft) industrial building has been prelet to plastics firm Doeflex.
