Schroders Capital hires from ICG for global business development role

Schroders Capital has appointed Ingo Heinen as global head of business development and product.

Heinen comes from Intermediate Capital Group, where he most recently served as head of marketing and client relations for EMEA. Prior to that, he spent 10 years at BlackRock, where he built and led the fundraising team for the alternative investments business in EMEA.

In this newly-created role, Heinen will be responsible for managing Schroders Capital’s products and solutions, focused on delivering investment solutions for clients.

The move comes as Schroders Capital expands its global platform, which provides investors with access to a variety of asset classes, including real estate, infrastructure and private equity, as well as private debt and credit alternative investments.

Last year, the firm launched the UK’s first long-term asset fund, Climate+, and, earlier this month, was awarded £150m by the British Business Bank to invest in UK science and tech companies.

Georg Wunderlin, global head of private assets at Schroders Capital, said: “Ingo brings a wealth of business development and product experience from the top-tier of our industry and his arrival will greatly bolster our business at a time when investors globally are increasingly allocating to private markets to enhance the quality of their investment portfolios.”
