Science and tech council formed to boost sector growth

The UK government is pushing forward with its ambitions to establish the country as science and tech superpower.

A new national science and technology council has been formed to ensure the economic growth, prosperity and security of the sector.

The board will be chaired by the chancellor of the exchequer, with the chancellor of the duchy of Lancaster as deputy chair.

The newly formed council is expected to deliver a plan to harness science and technology to support economic growth and the UK’s position on the geopolitical stage.
