Scottish landlords blame red tape for slowdown

Scottish landlords are blaming government red tape for a sharp drop in homes offered for rent.

Eviction bans, rent freezes and a 28-day notice period have contributed to an industry slowdown, they said, with listings in Glasgow and Stirling 20% lower than pre-pandemic levels.

In Edinburgh new listings are 14% lower, while applications to let HMOs have halved.
