Scottish landowners urge no more reforms

The owners of some of Scotland’s largest estates will call on the SNP government to ignore demands to strengthen land reform legislation.

The chairman of the Scottish Land & Estates organisation, David Johnstone, urged ministers to ignore calls for more change and to work with landowners to implement the new law which was granted royal assent at the end of the previous parliament.

Johnstone described the Land Reform Act as pretty extreme, saying it was no longer a case of willing seller, willing buyer.
