Scottish Secretary cuts Perth housing land allocation in Tayside Structure Plan by 25%

Scottish Secretary Michael Forsyth has reduced Perth’s housing land allocation in the Tayside Structure Plan by 25%.

Perth and Kinross Council had argued that its allocation could not be implemented because the infrastructure, water services and education facilities would be inadequate to meet the demand.

While broadly approving the structure plan, Forsyth limited house building on the east side of Dundee, but endorsed house building on brownfield sites, particularly in the Dundee area.

The structure plan covers the council areas of Dundee, Angus, and Perth and Kinross.
