Scottish Secretary to annouce £150m aid for Hyundai to set up in Dunfermline

Scottish secretary Michael Forsyth is expected to announce aid totalling about £150m to Hyundai to set up microchip-manufacturing facilities at Dunfermline, Fife.

It is suggested that the Koreans will spend £2.4bn at Dunfermline over a five year period building two plants.

The move will reaffirm Fife’s image of being Scotland’s “silicon glen”.
