Scowcroft keeps it simple with business park agenda

The Guardian interviews property developer Brian Scrowcroft, who develops business parks on former industrial sites, including Kingsmoor business park in Carlisle and Crossley Park in Stockley.

Scowcroft, who made his money from the sale of the Swinton insurance business that his father founded, began his move into industrial development in 1994.

He now plans to “try to acquire approximately 500,000 sq ft of old industrial space annually, certainly over the next five years, which will take us to about 5m sq ft”.

Scowcroft says: “My business philosophy is KISS – keep it simple and stupid – the stupid bit being me.”
