Sean Tompkins has winning recipe for RICS MasterChef

A RICS charity event that saw two novice chefs compete in a cook-off presided over by one of the world’s top chefs had all the makings of a hit TV show.

That’s because Michel Roux Jr of MasterChef fame was on hand providing the dash of celebrity required to turn
the foodie challenge into an extremely tasty stunt.

RICS chief executive Sean Tompkins went head-to-head with RICS Matrics chairman Rebecca Best, with a mackerel tartare threatening to expose their culinary shortcomings.

Roux decided that it was a squeeze of lemon too far for Rebecca, and Sean was duly crowned RICS MasterChef
Champion 2013.

The event raised £12,000 for charities CRASH and Great Ormond Street Hospital.

When the rivalry had calmed down to a simmer, guests dined at Roux Parliament Square and an auction followed.
